| I am a teacher of English, living in the beautiful Spanish city of Sevilla. I have a strong background in Business (Engineering, IT, Project Management, Training Logistics) and have also owned and run a clinic to teach children reading (Australia).
With a healthy interest in food and fitness, Sevilla is the perfect city to enjoy both. It has a wonderful 'casco antiguo', historic centre, with narrow cobbled lanes and hidden bars & cafes serving wonderful 'comida casera' (home made food). It is easy to spend several hours wandering the maze of streets, getting exercise while gazing at the beautiful architecture and local culture. I teach English privately and in companies, to individuals and small groups. My favourite passion is analysing and helping people with English pronunciation. I might even throw in a couple of Aussie slang words - just for fun! |

| I love to share the learning experience with my students and rather than have all lessons indoors, I include a cultural aspect. We can build lessons around small excursions in the neighbourhood, talking about the local sights, sounds (and tastes!).
As I enjoy the creative arts, students will be exposed to learning materials which include kinesthetic activities such as making a model or playing a game. Does that sound like you? If you are interested in learning more about the Sevillano way of life and having fun during your lessons, then I would love to help . |
| Why would you be an ideal host family and/or tutor |
| I was born in New Zealand and lived many years in Australia therefore I have had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout Asia and also the Northern hemisphere (even living in London for a year). I have so many interesting adventures to share with my students who come to learn English.
My interests range from fitness (as a yoga and aerobics instructor) to science (degrees in Biotechnology and IT). I guess you could say that I have been a teacher all my life as I have been a fitness instructor, taught Reiki, owned and run a reading clinic and project managed corporate training programs for General Electric, many banks and Australia's largest telecommunication company. My philosophy is to live life fully and assimilate into the culture I am living in. As a resident of Sevilla, I am soaking up the wonderful sights, sounds and tastes in Spain and love to share these with students. English lessons are just as likely to be in my home or wandering the pretty cobbled streets in search of the perfect Tapa bar (cafe)! |
